It is getting close to the end of the school year and no I just think about all the good times I've had. I wish I was back in the past to relive some days over and over again. My favorite memory of this year is Field day because of the events and the people I was around. The events were fun like the obstacle course, dizzy bat, and the tug of war. The dizzy bat has to be my favorite because people were falling left and right, and sometimes running straight into the ground. The most important thing that I have learned this year is that if you just try to run through the year it will be gone before you know it, so enjoy it.

Slavery Stays the Same
The novel The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman has taught me that after the civil war things didn't get better for the slaves, but in fact it got worse. The slaves after the civil war had to find jobs and were being hunted down by the confederates. Many slaves had to keep working on plantations the only difference was they were getting paid a little. People all over the north and south were still very racist and didn't think that the black people deserved anything. As time passed racism slowly died down, but for a long time racism stood.

In class we have been reading the novel The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, and in this book there is a lot of stereotypical things coming from both the white and black people. For example Jane thinks that all the southern white people are out to get them, and that the only person who was nice to here lives up north so everyone there must be nice. Jane thinks about this every time she sees a white man. In this book there is an old white man that is nice to Jane, and he shows her on a map where to go. He tells exactly where to go and some things to avoid, and even if he tries do discourage her to get her to turn around and go back he was still nice to her, and he even feeds them.

"Full circle" is my favorite of the short stories that I have read. I enjoyed this book because it had suspense and kept me guessing. A girl crashes on the side of the highway. A man in a blue pickup truck looked like he was trying to help but then ran away. Kinsey, the main character, tried investigating. She visited the place that the girl worked at. The man that owned the store said that the girl was always harassed by a man in a green van. Kinsey finally visits the girl’s roommate at her house, but no one is home. She goes around back and in a garage she sees the blue pickup truck but it is stripped of paint. In the truck she finds a gun. She now knows who killed the girl and as she is pulling out of the driveway she sees him in his van. She chases him in her car until he crashes on the side of the highway. This story is ironic because the man died on the same spot on the highway that the girl he killed did. I liked the character of Kinsey because she is smart and persistent. When she didn’t find the criminal the first or second time she kept trying to find him or her.

My favorite book as a kid was Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I liked this book because it teaches kids good life lessons. First it teaches them to try new things in the book because Sam offers green eggs and ham to the other character multiple times and he keeps saying no. Finally he tries them and really likes them. Second i'm not sure if anyone else got this out of the book, but I got be persistent. Sam offers the other character time after time and keeps getting rejected, but finally he says yes. Those are the reasons I liked the book Green Eggs and ham as a child hope you liked it too.

Are You a Leader or a Follower
An important lesson shone in the book Animal Farm is you can't always be a blind follower, sometimes you have to stand up and be a leader. In Animal Farm the animals are always following Napoleon which isn't a good thing because he makes them work hard with almost no food. The ruling is unfair and no one is willing do do something about it. If someone had stood up to Napoleon maybe others would have joined in. They could have started another rebellion, and could have been free from his harsh dictatorship, but no one would stand up.

Carer Day
On Carer day my favorite class was computer science. In computer science he talked about how he gets to try to break stuff for his job. He knows a lot about computers and he gets to take them apart and put them back together for a living. Yet he still makes a lot of money.
